Moving abroad can help cut living costs, says reportPost by Cameron Davidson on 27th July 2010 in Living abroad Research has shown that UK citizens who move abroad often find running their new home cheaper than the one they have just left. Holiday home insurance specialist Intasure says that, far from being a luxurious expense, moving abroad can help Brits cut their costs and build up their savings.
Among the biggest savings which people moving overseas from the UK achieve are on fuel and heating costs due to their new homes being blessed with a warmer climate.
And if people are already living in their dream destination they take fewer holidays. Trips back to Britain can also be much cheaper as many one-time UK citizens stay with family and friends, the website explains.
In addition, there are ways to legitimately avoid certain tax burdens in order to decrease outgoings and have more money left to enjoy life's little luxuries.
Finally, the easiest way to make sure that international relocation represents a cheaper way of life, according to the report's compilers, is to move to a country renowned for its low cost of living. As it is outside the euro zone, Turkey is a favourite in this regard, they say.
