Kiwi estate agents attempt to round up Yorkshire farmersPost by Cameron Davidson on 25th August 2010 in Immigration, Working abroad, Living abroad A group of estate agents from New Zealand are heading over
to the UK in an attempt to encourage farmers in North Yorkshire to emigrate, according
to York-based newspaper The Press.
The Kiwis will make their pitch during a roadshow which is
due to be held in the city of York in October. They are expected to cite the
increasing strength of the pound against the New Zealand dollar and the
buoyancy of the rural economy in the country as reasons for people to consider international
relocation.
Richard Graham, marketing manager at New Zealand-based
estate agency Bayleys Realty Global, said they have helped make moving to New
Zealand a reality for hundreds of farmers from the UK since 2002. He believes
demand in the UK is growing.
Mr Graham said: “Our website traffic data records that about
22 per cent of international hits on the Bayleys website come from viewers in
the UK. This figure has been growing during the past few years.”
