British motorists continue to buy and pay for their cars 'tax-free' in the UK,
thanks to some excellent deals offered by manufacturers.
A report in
the Daily Telegraph by its motoring correspondent, Mike Rutheford, found that
deals on offer for people who were able to undertake car shipping from the UK
to their home overseas were plentiful, with one manufacturer even said to be
effectively offering a 'buy one get one free' deal.
The report
also says that Skoda - once the butt of many jokes for its primitive Eastern
European models - has transformed its fortunes in a large part by concentrating
on offering deals to Britons who are moving abroad. Its already highly
attractive list prices were made even more appealing to overseas buyers by the
substantial discounts which were on offer, it said.
Other
companies which were wooing buyers who had undertaken international relocation
were SEAT - like Skoda part of the Volkswagen group - and Far Eastern
car-makers Kia and Hyundai.
