UK visa processing delayed by technical glitchPost by Cameron Davidson on 10th May 2012 in Immigration, Industry news The UK Border Agency has announced that visa applications submitted in several countries are being delayed. It claims "technical issues" are the cause of the problems, which are holding up applications for all types of British visa submitted in a number of busy countries, including France, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland. While these problems persist, the UKBA is saying that applications "might take longer to process than stated in our service standards." Other countries being affected are: Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus, the Vatican City, Luxembourg and Monaco. "We are working to resolve these issues and we hope to be able to resume normal service as soon as possible," the Agency said in a statement, and promised to post updates to service availability on its website, www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk. "We are sorry for any inconvenience caused", the agency added. The problems come on top of an expected walk-out today by many Border Force staff as part of a day of action by public sector workers in protest at changes to their pensions.
