Jaguar Land Rover to open new global logistics centre in UKPost by Cameron Davidson on 15th May 2012 in Industry news, Shipping A new centre to handle deliveries of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles around the globe will open later this summer in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The centre will co-ordinate the shipping of the company's Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander 2 models, which are built nearby at Halewood, Merseyside. Jaguar Land Rover's existing logistics partner DHL will operate the site, which is expected to require 300 new staff. Paul Dyer, managing director of DHL Supply Chain's UK and Ireland automotive services, said: "We are delighted to continue our support for JLR's ever-growing expansion plans. "As the UK's north-west region is fast becoming a major supply chain hub for the automotive industry, this new facility will greatly enhance the next stage of the company's development and future success."
