How does our international removal service to the UAE work?

Moving to the United Arab Emirates has very exciting prospects and we are determined to provide an international removal service which reflects this.
Our process has ten simple steps to make moving abroad that little less stressful:

  1. Plan your move
It is important to decide where in the UAE you are moving to as this will impact the cost and logistics of your move. You also need to have a good idea of how much you want to move overseas. It doesn’t matter if this isn’t exact – we are flexible and allow for volume changes later down the line.
  2. Get in contact with us
Once you know your destination and roughly what you want to be moved, give us a call to discuss your individual needs. You can also get a quote online and a member of our team will be in touch with you.
  3. Get surveyed
In order to give you the most accurate price possible, we need to understand the volume of your move and any special considerations. A survey will need to be carried out of your property and this can be done via a free home survey, a free video survey or a self-survey form. During the survey, you will discuss your requirements with the surveyor and they will take these into account when putting the quote together.
  4. Get your quote
Following your survey, you will receive an accurate quote for your move. If you have any questions regarding this, your Move Manager will be on hand to assist.
  5. Accept our quote
If you like the price we have given for your move to the UAE, then all you need to do is let your Move Manager know and send the completed Acceptance documents back to us.
  6. Get your moved booked
Your Move Manager will liaise with you to make sure we can accommodate your move date. We will then get your move booked in with our Operations team and you will receive confirmation of this. Please note that we require full payment at the time of booking.
  7. Moving day
The big day will come around quickly and so you need to make sure you are prepared. If you have chosen to pack your goods yourself, then make sure everything is ready to go on its onward journey before move day. The container will arrive at your property in the UK and our team will carefully load this up.
  8. Transit time
Depending on the transit method you have chosen for your move, the time it will take for your goods to arrive at their destination will vary. You can track your goods whilst they are on their journey, using a tracking code which your Move Manager will provide you with once the container has left the port in the UK.
  9. Arrival in the United Arab Emirates
You will be notified by our agents in the UAE, as soon as your container has arrived at its destination. Our agents will take care of ensuring the container is customs cleared and will then confirm a delivery date with you.
  10. Delivery of your goods
Our agents will unpack your goods onto flat services at your property in the UAE. If you have requested a full unpacking service, our agents will ensure your goods are safely unpacked and placed where you request.  Please contact your Move Manager to find out more about the unpacking service.

How will we move your belongings to the UAE?

We provide an international removals service to the United Arab Emirates that is tailored to suit your needs and is personal to you. Therefore, we offer all customers a range of transit options including both, sea and air freight. When deciding which transit method is best for your move, you need to consider your budget and any time restraints you have.

Sea freight –
We can move your goods to the UAE via a variety of sea options:

  • Shared container (Groupage): Your goods will be transported with other customers belongings who are also going to the UAE. With the groupage service, you only pay for the space your possessions take up in the container.
  • Shared container (LCL): Your goods will be transported with other people’s goods who are also going to the UAE, but these people will not be from the same shipping company – the containers will be consolidated by the shipping line themselves. Like our groupage service, you will only pay for the space your possessions take up in the container.
  • Shared container (Baggage): Your goods will fill the gaps in containers and therefore this method is only recommended to transport personal belongings rather than larger, furniture items. If you forget anything or your container is already full, then Baggage could be the solution. Check out our Excess Baggage page for more information.
  • Full container load (FCL): Your goods will be transported to the UAE in their own, exclusive container. You will pay for either a 20ft, 40ft or 40ft High Cube container depending on how much you are moving. This method is the most direct in comparison to the shared container options.

Air freight –
We can also send your goods to the UAE via air freight. This is the fastest method, but bear in mind that the cost is calculated on the total weight of your load so it can work out to be the most expensive method.  We recommend air freight for customers who are looking to send a small volume of goods or furniture.
